Falling Inn Love & Kim Crawford Rosé
This is the kick off of my new pairing series Pompette Pairings. As you know I love pairing wine/spirits with movies and shows. You should always have the right libation when watching a show. Am I right?
First up is a romantic comedy called Falling Inn Love on Netflix. Every once in awhile, it’s nice to get in girl meets boy and falls in love story.
Gabriela Diaz loses her job the same week that she and her wishy washy boyfriend break up. After all that a girl could use some wine, am I right? She sees a contest called “ Win an Inn” in the countryside of New Zealand. Of course, she wins the contest, even Ray Charles would bave been able to see that. There is a plot twist. Instead of the inn being beautiful, turns out it’s a hot mess.
Enter in hot guy from New Zealand, who just happens to a contractor. They agree to work on the inn and become partners in fixing it up. I think you can see where this is all headed. But how will it all end? You just have to watch to find out. Rumor has it that people love to hate on this one, but isn’t that part of the fun of a cheesy romantic comedy?
The wine pairing for Fall Inn Love is the Kim Crawford Rosé . The pale pink wine is lively with notes of berries and fruit. Kim Crawford is one of New Zealand’s top wineries. They are known for their Sauvignon Blanc with their rose a close favorite.
I ended up talking about this movie at a wine lunch with, Anthony Walkenhorst, the winemaker from Kim Crawford. We had a good laugh, because it turns out her his wife had watched Fall Inn Love. It has all the makings of the perfect pairing.
