Oreos is the world’s best selling cookie and is available in 100 countries. The  sandwich cookie has been around since 1912. You will find that the English call Oreos a biscuit instead of a cookie and in Japan they are completely different, but Oreo makes it work worldwide. Some of the taglines that have been used to describe Oreos is “wonderfilled” and “milk’s favorite cookie”. My favorite Oreo to drunk in hot chocolate has always been the fudge covered Oreo, those were my go to in college.

The first time I had these Oreo Truffles was at a friend’s party. I think I ate almost all of them by myself. They are incredibly easy to make and you only need three ingredients. Of course you can get creative and use a limited edition cookie for your truffles during holidays.

This treat is perfect for when you are entertaining or when you want to have something decedent  during a Netflix binge. The truffles can stay in the frig for up to a month and put in the freeze for about four months. I’d pair with a shot of Cognac or bourbon.

Oreo Truffles

  • 1 pkg. (8 oz.) brick cream cheese, softened

  • 36 OREO Cookies, finely crushed, divided

  • 4 pkg. (4 oz. each) semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted

Directions:

  • Mix cream cheese and 3 cups cookie crumbs until well blended.

  • Shape about into 48 (1-inch) balls. Dip in melted dark chocolate; place on waxed paper-covered baking sheet. Sprinkle with remaining cookie crumbs.

  • Refrigerate  1 hour or until firm. Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.
