Cheese Week 2018: NYC Cheese Adventures
I had the pleasure of going to a 5 course lunch preview for Cheese Week at Beaubourg in NYC a few weeks ago. The first course was the star of the lunch, a cheese plate pairing from Michelin star Chef Nicolas Abello that included: Savencia Esquirrou Ossau Iraty Au Lait Cru, Fromagerie Henri Hutin Baby Belletoile Triple Creme, Saint Agur Bleu, and Emmi The Kaltbach Cave Aged Gruyere AOP. I loved every minute of it, especially the Emmi with olive tapenade.

April 21 – Noon to 7pm : Say Cheese! Join us for a fete of cheese, wine and spirit pairings that will get everyone in the mood to celebrate
Noon to 2 pm: Marc Bauer Demo
1 pm: Arrival of Eric Bayer, Deputy Consul of France
2 to 5 pm : Big Party with music at the eighth floor but also at the seventh floor tabletop department.
Join the culinary art shop Juliska on Saturday April 12 from 2-5 pm and taste their amazing cheese selection served on Juliska products. The brand makes hundreds of items in over a dozen categories for the table and home, all inspired by the joy of bringing people together and helping create a happy home.

April 16: Savencia Cheese demos in Madison and Soho
The other days, they will feature local cheese producers from New York and Connecticut with demos. Their cheesemonger in Soho will make fondue with their different gouda.

Intercontinental New York Barclay Hotel
April 16 – 22
At the famed New York Barclay Hotel, the bar chef and chef have worked together to create a specialty cocktail Barclay Bees Knees to be served throughout CHEESE Week at the Gin Parlour.
The special cocktail accompaniment is a stuffed olive that features Emmi Kaltbatch Gruyere and Fennel Pollen Sausage.
Barclay Bees Knees: Beefeater Gin, Smoked Rooftop Honey, Fresh Lemon Juice $18.
Le District will offer $20 cheese plates with four cheeses of your choice, including Brie Couronne, St. Agur Blue, Ossau-Iraty, and Saint Andre with a custom wine pairing from Le District’s in-house sommelier, such as Franck Bonville Grand for the brie lover, Champagne Vollereaux to complement the blue cheese, Domaines Barons de Rothschild Legende paired with Ossau-Iraty, or Cap Corse paired with Saint Andre.
Demonstrations Daily – 3 to 6 pm
The Murray’s Cheese locations at 254 Bleecker Street and Grand Central Terminal will host demonstrations daily.
Murray’s Cheese Bar on Bleecker will offer customers wine and French cheese pairing options as specials in addition their regular menu.
April 19 – 6:30 to 8 pm
‘Vive les Fromages’ a special class highlighting all of the wine, cheese and spirits sponsors will be held at the Bleecker Street location. This class is $85 per person and reservations can be made on Eventbrite.com

April 20th – 1 to 4 pm : Join Christel Vibrac for a tasting of Cheeses from Fromagerie Henri Hutin which included Triple crème Belletoile, Brie Couronne Black Pepper, Brie Couronne chives, Belletoile garlic and herbs, Belletoile horseradish and Belletoile original.
