Hostelworld: But You Hostel?
So, as you may know, I’m a bit bougie (about certain things). I’ve had the pleasure of going on some wonderful luxury trips. That being said, I had been thinking of checking out some hostels, because it appears to be a very interesting travel community. There are people of all ages who swear by them especially solo travelers due to the added social element that they offer. It’s always awesome to meet people around the world when on a trip. I’ve even met people in other countries and gotten together with them when they hit New York.
Somehow I’ve never stayed in a hostel. I’m sure it’s because they kind of “creeped” me out. I heard a few horror stories that turned me off to the whole experience. I do know that hostels have been stepping up with game the last few years. I’ve seen photos of some that are absolutely breathtaking and offer just as many amenities as hotels (if not more).
When I saw this video that Mariah Carey did with Hostelworld, I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. The thought of her at a hostel is a hoot, especially with a fan as her wind machine. It’s kinda of given me the inspiration that I need to finally stay at a hostel. It looks like Canada will be my first attempt. I also have to give a shout out to Hostelworld for being to responsive to my comments. I didn’t know much about them until now and so far, I’m very impressed.
Let me know what some of your favorite hostels. Happy traveling!
