Witchcraft Cocktails: Blade Rummer
The movie, Blade Runner, became a cult classic after being a flop at the box office. It featured a young, Harrison Ford, and the ever quirky actress, Sean Young. It’s been 35 years since the original flick, now Blade Runner 2049 has arrived starring Ryan Gosling with Harrison Ford making a return. So far it’s looking like the latest one will be flop as well, but time will tell. It’s not a feel good movie so it’s probably keeping some people away. Long story short, the movie is truly for sci-fi lovers.
If you are a geek or nerd, Blade Runner 2049 and the original will be right up your alley. It’s visually stunning and an interesting take on a dystopian world. It’s enough to make one want to have a drink. That’s where the Blade Rummer comes in.
The cocktail is inspired by the first movie and is in The Cocktail Guide To The Galaxy by Andy Heidl. The booze that’s featured is spiced rum and Chambord. I don’t happen to have spice rum so I opted to use St. James Agricole Rhum from Martinique, their Rhum Paille to be exact. It’s matured for 12 months with woody and vanilla, so it’s a good pick to make a variation of the Blade Rummer.
This quick and easy cocktail is easy to sip and savor while watching Blade Runner or your favorite sci-fi feature.
1 part spiced rum
¼ part Chambord
1 part orange juice
1 part pineapple juice
Splash of lime juice
Pour all of the ingredients in a medium glass filled with ice. Stir, and dream of electric sheep.
