Nosh Away On National S’mores Day

I’m a big fan of s’mores. While traditionally a campfire treat, people make s’mores at home in their oven or with a kit containing chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers. Did you know that August 10th is National S’mores Day? Oh yes it is!

This year instead of making traditional s’mores get creative and try s’mores with a twist. Here are three recipes to get you started, some of them are a little boozy.  The recipes and photos are courtesy of XO Marshmallows, gourmet handcrafted marshmallows.

Caramel Apple Pie S’mores

  • 1 granny smith apple (sliced into apple chips)

  • XO Marshmallow vanilla marshmallows

  • XO Marshmallow salted caramel sauce

  • Crushed up graham crackers

Slice the apple into chips. Coat the apple slice in caramel sauce. Top with vanilla marshmallow. Toast marshmallow. Sprinkle with crushed up graham crackers. Smush together with another apple slice.

Lavender Honey Gin Latte

  • 3 XO Marshmallow Lavender Honey Marshmallows

  • 2 Shots of espresso

  • Choice of Milk

  • Lavender buds (optional)

  • Orange Peel

  • Lavender Syrup (optional)

  • 1 shot of gin

Make your latte using the milk of you choice. Add lavender syrup. Add a shot of gin. Top with 3 XO Marshmallow lavender honey marshmallows. Toast to melty perfection. Top with lavender buds and orange peel

Boozy Frozen S’more

  • 2 XO Marshmallow Bourbon Marshmallows

  • 3 tbsp of marshmallow fluff

  • Crushed up graham crackers

  • ½ cup of cocoa powder

  • ¼ cup of milk of your choice

  • 1 shot of bourbon

Dip rim of glass into marshmallow fluff. Coat fluff in crushed up graham crackers, Mix cocoa powder, milk, and bourbon in blender with ice. Pour into glass. Top with bourbon marshmallows (toast to your liking). Drizzle with chocolate for extra sweetness (we prefer dark chocolate).
