Pompette Notes: Mumm Brut Prestige
Mumm Brut Prestige is wonderful sparkling wine at a fabulous price. The Brut Prestige is Mumm Napa’s signature wine. It was named #54 on Wine Spectator’s top 100 Wines of 2014. There are so many accolades for this wine that there are too many to name. I picked up a bottle for New Year’s Eve, but instead enjoyed it on January 1st throughout the day. I am a girl who loves her some bubbly and this is now one of my favorites.
The roots of Mumm Napa can be traced back to G.H. Mumm, one of the leading champagne brands in France. They follow the winemaking tradition of French heritage which is why their sparkling wine taste like you are drinking a luxurious champagne.
Brut Prestige is made from hand picked pinot noir, chardonnay and pinot gris grapes. The wine has a rich complexity that is fruity and spicy. The aromas are white blossoms, vanilla, citrus, and stone fruit. It’s fairly dry and crisp to the tongue. As they say in French, “miam”!
This sparkler is great for every day, brunches, or any special occasion that you have coming up. Besides the yummy taste, this wine is fabulously affordable. That doesn’t mean that you can’t still feel all fancy when you drink it. Brut Prestige tends to run about $18 ( got my bottle at Trader Joe’s for $15).
I’m always going to make sure that I have a bottle in the house. I predict you will dig this sparkling wine.
Pompette Tip: Oh yes, keep these bubbles coming!
