Brandy is simply fabulous during the cold and snowy months especially in a hot toddie made with Calvados.

Calvados is an apple brandy made in Normandy. Like cognac there are several different grades of this brandy. Calvados that is aged longer is smoother with a more complex flavor, you will find that it is typically darker. Calvados is served as an apéritif or digestif, mixed in cocktails, or served with coffee.

This hot toddy would be awesome on Thanksgiving and during the December holiday season as you entertain or stay in for a Netflix night. Enjoy!

Apple Brandy Hot Toddies

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups water
2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons honey
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
2 cups apple brandy, preferably Calvados

Directions:

In small saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Remove from the heat and stir in the honey until dissolved. Stir in the lemon juice and apple brandy. Set a cinnamon stick in each of 8 mugs or heatproof glasses, pour in the hot liquid and serve.
