Veuve Ambal was started in 1898 by Marie Ambal after her husband’s death and the beginning of the champagne method. The winery won it’s first medal in 1908 and the rest is history.
I sipped the delicious Veuve Ambal Bourgogne Mousseux Rouge, a sparkling red burgundy wine and feel in love! The sparkler is made up of a blend Pinot Noir and Gamay grapes. The bubbles have an aromas of cherries, blueberries, caramel, and citrus.
This wine would pair wonderfully with a number of dishes such as Thai food, eggs, truffle mac and cheese, grilled chicken salad, or chocolate cake. This is the perfect wine to drink when you are craving bubbly and want something a little different.
What’s also great about the wine is that it cost around $10-$12 bucks, but taste like you payed so much more.
