Armand de Brignac: A Luxurious Champagne
There is nothing better than sipping a luxury champagne except for sipping that champagne on rooftop of a fancy hotel in New York City. I got to get up close and personal to the bubbles in Armand de Brignac also known as “Ace of Spades” due to the French pewter of the Ace of Spade on the labels. It was such a luxurious night with an intimate crowd of champagne lovers.
Armand de Brignac is produced by the Cattier family who have owned and cultivated vineyards since 1763. Their cellars are some of the oldest and most revered in Champagne. Each bottle of this bubbly is created entirely by hand and poured into opaque metallic bottles. As I mentioned it’s a luxury champagne, so prices start at $300.00 and go up $10,000.00. While Jay Z owns the company, the emphasis is on making a good product versus it being just another celebrity product.
I really enjoyed the Armand de Brignac Brut Gold which is their flagship cuvée. The Brut Gold is a lovely wine with floral notes, a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier grapes. Their rosé is also pretty darn good as well. You won’t have this champagne at just any event, because it’s rare for the company to do public events. More than likely, you will have it at a celebrity event or a very fancy soiree.
This champagne is a great gift for wine collectors. The wine is housed in a wooden lacquer gift box to give it a unique touch. You may not find this champagne in your local store, but you can ask for them to order if for you. If you ever have the opportunity to try a glass, just do it!
