Trust Your Instinct

Oprah calls them God whispers, others call it a gut, then there are those who call is intuition. How tapped into your intuition are you? It can be your best friend and greatest gift to yourself. There is power in listening to self.

Many successful people say that they followed their own instinct to make the decisions that lead them to success. Those decisions went against what other people were telling them, but they knew deep down that they were right. You have that ability as well, if you make a firm decision to listen to yourself first over other people. I highly recommend reading the book, Delivering Happiness by Tony Hsieh the CEO of Zappos.com. The book is about how knew he had to take certain chances if Zappos was going to survive. He ignored the advice of others at times and followed his gut, which paid off spiritual and financially in the long run.

This can be hard because there are always people giving their opinions, especially when you don’t want opinions. Those same opinions can cause self doubt and confusion. When this happens go back within to self. The answer is always there if you dig deep enough.

Growing up my mother use to say “old folks always say follow your first mind”. I have learned to live by this, because no matter how many times I use to change my mind, 99% of the time I ended up back at the first decision. Once you start to fully tap into your intuition it will become easier and answers become clearer. It will become like second nature to you.

“Cease trying to work everything out with your minds. It will get you nowhere. Live by intuition and inspiration and let your whole life be Revelation.”

Even if you have to pass on an opportunity no matter how big it may be, trust your instinct. Something else will come along and replace it. What is going to be yours will always come to you if you let it; the universe has your back.
