Wines To Pair With…Empire

The countdown has begun, Cookie and them are coming back on September 23rd. We have survived without Empire long enough. This premiere requires the proper wine and snacks. From the previews it looks like this season is going to be another wild one, so the proper wine must be in hand.

Here are some of my picks for wines to sip on while you watch Empire, pair any of them with my kettle corn:

Sandeman Porto Tawny 40 A good port is all about sipping and chilling. It is great to have before or after dinner. This particular port has aromas of vanilla, honey, oak, and spice. It’s smooth and selective, just like Lucious.

Yellow Tail Shiraz- A solid red that is good for sipping while watching the drama unfold. A full-bodied wine that has berry and plum notes. It pairs great with meat and cheeses. Becky and Rhonda ( aka the assistants) would drink the heck out of this.

Chateau Miraval Rosé– This popular rosé comes from what use to be Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Regardless of them, in 2012 is was named the best rosé in the world. I wouldn’t go that far, but it is it pretty darn good. It’s something that Rhonda would sip as she rubbed elbows with with the rich and famous.

JCB No. 69-  This sensual and sexy wine is made in the Burgundy part of France. It’s a sparkling rose that entwines masculinity and femininity. This flamboyant wine is all about passion and expression, just like Cookie. She would pop these bottles all night long.

Domaine des Ouled Thaleb Rose- This sexy moroccan rose is exquisite from the packaging to the taste. The notes in this wine include peach, floral, and grapefruit. This medium-bodied wine is wonderful to sip and has a lot of character. This has Andre written all over it.

Buena Vista Chardonnay This wine is not too buttery, but just right. As it hits your taste buds, you just might taste pear and melon. This is one of my favorite affordable chardonnays. Jamal would sip this when he is done at the studio.

Sweet Bitch Merlot– For those of you who love a sweet wine, you might enjoy this one. It’s not everybody’s bag of tea, but there are those who love it. Don’t know if we have seen the last of Camilia, but this one is for her,.
